Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that in a case where an ejection amount of ink is controlled by a heat pulse width modulation corresponding to a temperature of a head and printing for a large width is performed in a large format printer, the temperature of the head is increased and a temperature range of the head to be controlled is extended, and when a temperature step size for the heat pulse width modulation is increased so as not to generate an uncontrolled condition even in a high temperature region, the ejection amount in a control region is not made constant, thereby the ejection amount is gradually increased. SOLUTION: A head temperature step size for the heat pulse width modulation is changed in accordance with the speed of the carriage. In a case where the speed of the carriage is low, the head does not become in a high temperature. Therefore, the temperature step size is decreased to make the ejection amount roughly constant.
