Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element in which damages caused by high energy in forming a protection layer are reduced, and that has superior life characteristics. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element sequentially includes: a first electrode 2; an organic compound layer composed of multiple layers with a luminescent layer 4; a second electrode 7 composed of a metal thin film of a thickness of 5-20 nm; and a protection layer 9 formed by sputtering or a plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition method. The distance between an interface of the side of the electrode 7 of the luminescent layer 4 and an interface of the side of the luminescent layer 4 of the second electrode 7 is in the range of 55-90 nm. There is a buffer layer 8 between the second electrode 7 and the protection layer 9, the layer being formed by an evaporation method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
