Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire coating composition which meets requirements for heat resistance and mechanical property even when using silane-crosslinking and magnesium hydroxide derived from natural mineral, to provide an insulated wire excellent in heat resistance and a mechanical characteristic, and to provide a wire harness. SOLUTION: The composition for wire coating material comprises (A) silane graft polyolefin in which the polyolefin is grafted with a silane coupling agent, (B) unmodified polyolefin, (C) modified polyolefin modified by a functional group, (D) magnesium hydroxide derived from natural mineral, and (E) a crosslinking catalyst. The insulated wire has a wire coating material prepared by subjecting the composition for a wire coating material to silane-crosslinking, and a wire harness has the insulated wire.
