Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that reduces possibility of false setting and that is conducive to preventing false operation even in setting a wide range of functions. SOLUTION: When a user selects any of functions such as a manual mode, exposure correction, white balance correction, image zone, AF manual, distance measuring point selection and customized functions that are actually in use, the imaging apparatus determines proficiency of the user to the selected functions and sets to activate or invalidate the function according to the proficiency, or widens or narrows the range where the setting is performed.
