Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbine rotor and a method for manufacturing the same capable of electron beam welding between a shaft and a turbine wheel by using one electron beam device, and capable of reducing the welding distortion of a shaft which occurs in the conventional electron beam welding. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the turbine rotor in which the turbine wheel and the shaft formed in a rod shape are joined by the electron beam welding, a joint part of the shaft with the turbine wheel includes at least a plane part and a groove part sequentially from the center side of the shaft, a face contact part is formed by bringing the plane part of the shaft into face-to-face contact with the plane of a joint part of the turbine wheel with the shaft, and the electron beam welding is performed from the outer peripheral side of the turbine wheel and the shaft to a depth where the groove part exists to form a welding part to the groove part in a circumferential direction.
