Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent a side air bag from escaping outward from an automobile by sufficiently exerting a support function of the inflated and deployed air bag, to reduce manufacturing man-hours of the air bag itself, and to reduce the size of a folded state of the air bag for storing it in the predetermined storage part. SOLUTION: The side air bag device is configured to cover an opening 3 of a window by inflating and deploying the air bag 4 along a side face of a vehicle. A fitting hook 6 integrally configured by foundation cloths for configuring the air bag 4 is formed on the deployment top end part 4a side of the air bag 4, and a locking part 7 to which the fitting hook 6 is fitted upon inflation and deployment of the air bag 4 is formed at a window peripheral wall part 5.
