Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp capable of enhancing its reliability by simplifying a feeding structure, and reducing the usage of rare metals as much as possible. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp includes an arc tube, sealing tubes consecutively arranged at each of both ends thereof, electrodes arranged in the arc tube, shafts consecutively arranged at rear sides thereof, conductive discs connected thereto, glass members arranged adjoining thereto in the sealing tubes, metal foil interposed between the sealing tube and the glass member and connected to the conductive disc, and bases arranged at ends of the sealing tubes. The metal foil includes an extended portion projecting toward the outside of the sealing tube from an outer end of the sealing tube, and is electrically connected to the base at the extended portion.
