Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor flexibly coping with setting and changing of a band. SOLUTION: The data processor (160) is adopted to manage a band used by electronic equipment (110-150) in a communication network. The data processor communicates with the electronic equipment by a communication section, and performs control for variably allocating the band used by the electronic equipment based on a request from the electronic equipment by a band management section. When, for example, new equipment is added to the network and it is difficult to allocate a sufficient band to the equipment, the band management section requests the electronic equipment transmitting high-resolution moving image data having a high resolution meeting or exceeding a user's requirement to change a communication format, thus allocating a sufficient band to the newly added electronic equipment.
