Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing zinc oxide-based oxide pellets in which the height is relatively large, and relative density is suppressed, with good yield and in a mass-production manner. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing zinc oxide-based oxide pellets by baking a compact includes: a first step of manufacturing first pelletized powder by executing the wet mixing and spray drying of raw material powder; a second step of manufacturing calcinated powder by calcinating the first pelletized powder; a third step of manufacturing second pelletized powder by executing the wet mixing and spray drying of the calcinated powder and non-calcinated raw material powder; a fourth step of manufacturing a green compact by pressurizing the second pelletized powder; a fifth step of manufacturing powder for the compact by pulverizing the green compact; and a sixth step of manufacturing the compact by executing the pressure-forming of the powder for the compact. The pressurization condition for the second pelletized powder in the fourth step is set to ≥50 MPa and ≤150 MPa. The powder density of the powder for the compact manufactured in the fifth step is set to ≥1.4g/cm3and ≤2.0g/cm3.
