Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress wasteful consumption of energy by stopping a switching device after it recovers from its line separation state, in a rolling stock which is equipped with a switching device and a capacitor, and charges/discharges the capacitor by operating the switching device when a trolley wire and a current collector are disconnected. SOLUTION: The controller is equipped with: a DC voltage detector which detects a voltage value at the junction between a power converter controlling the drive of a main motor and the switching device; a travel distance calculator which calculates the travel distance of a main vehicle; and a switching signal output device which consists of a line separation position database in which a position to induce line separation is stored in advance. It forecasts that the rolling stock enters a section where the line separation occurs by collating the value of travel distance with the line separation position database, and outputs a switching signal.
