Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable geolocation and updating of a driver's own location, while saving electric power. SOLUTION: In an apparatus, it is determined whether location information could be acquired by a GPS signal processing unit (step S9). Based on the results of comparison at the step S10, it is determined whether a difference between the location information acquired this time and the latest location information is a prescribed distance or more (step S11). When the difference is the prescribed or more, an operation start interval of the GPS signal processing unit is set to be shorter (step S12). When the difference between the location information acquired this time and the latest location information is not the prescribed distance nor more, the operation start interval of the GPS signal processing unit is maintained as it is (step S14). When the decision at the step S9 is NO and the location information could not be acquired by the GPS signal processing unit, it is useless to make the GPS signal processing unit operate frequently, thereby the operation start interval of the GPS signal processing unit is set to be longer (step S15).
