Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor integrated circuit for driving and controlling a coil motor with high precision. SOLUTION: The motor drive semiconductor integrated circuit (200) moves a magnetic head (106) which is used to read information from a storage track on a magnetic storage disk rotated and driven, by performing a feedback control while detecting a drive current of a voice coil motor (108) which moves the magnetic head on the disk, the drive current flowing through a coil of the voice coil motor. A control circuit which performs the feedback control of the voice coil motor includes: a current detector which detects the drive current flowing through the coil of the voice coil motor; and a control signal generator (235) which includes a digital circuit which generates a drive control signal for a driver circuit which causes the drive current to flow through the coil of the voice coil motor, based on the current detected by the current detector and a given current command value.
