Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process capable of removing glycerol without using an organic solvent for cleaning, and capable of evading the blocking of a catalytic reaction tube when continuously producing a fatty acid ester from oil and fat by using lipase. SOLUTION: The continuous process for producing the fatty acid ester, in a reactor having the catalytic reaction tube filled with lipase, includes: (a) the step of obtaining a raw material composition by reacting a mixture of a starting fat and a lower alcohol, with lipase; (b) the step of mixing the raw material composition with the lower alcohol and supplying the mixture to the catalytic reaction tube, (c) the step of forming the fatty acid ester and glycerol in the catalytic reaction tube to which the raw material composition and the lower alcohol are supplied, (d) the step of introducing an outflow liquid from the catalytic reaction tube into a glycerol separation tank and thus recovering glycerol, and obtaining a separated liquid obtained by separating glycerol from the outflow liquid, and (e) the step of recovering the fatty acid ester from the separated liquid obtained at the step (d).
