Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel-supporting device capable of preventing a part of a human body being between a movable member and a fixed member from being caught in between them to prevent him/her from being injured and capable of achieving high safety. SOLUTION: The display panel-supporting device includes the fixed member 5 being fixed to put its rear surface along a vertical face to be fixed, the movable member 6 having a front face side on which a display panel 3 is mounted, a connection supporting member 7 for connecting the fixed member 5 and the movable member 6 mutually and driving the movable member 6 to move freely from a position close to the fixed member 5 up to a position where it is more forward than the former position, and a contact detection means 29 for detecting at least either of a rear face side of the movable member 6 and a front face side of the fixed member 5 which is in contact with an obstacle. The display panel-supporting device prevents the movable member 6 from retreating any more when detecting the contact with the obstacle by the contact detection means 29. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
