Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method by which the production of tin sludge produced at the same time during blowing of oxygen is reduced, in a method of electric tinning using an insoluble electrode. SOLUTION: The method of electric tinning comprises dissolving metal tin while circulating a plating liquid, in which oxygen is dissolved, between a metal tin dissolving tank and a plating liquid circulation tank and performing electroplating using an insoluble electrode while circulating the plating liquid between the plating liquid circulation tank and an electroplating tank. In the method of electric tinning, when the tin ion formation rate is controlled by adjusting the oxygen blowing amount, the variation of the tin ion consumption scheduled rate with time is obtained from a sheet passing schedule, the tin ion formation rate is segmented at every interval of time based on the variation of the tin ion consumption rate with time, and the tin ion formation rate obtained by averaging for every segment is used as the average variation with time, and further, the oxygen blowing amount is adjusted so that a tin ion formation rate, at which the concentration of tin ions corresponding to the average variation with time for every segment does not exceed the control target upper and lower critical values in each segment, is obtained.
