Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit even an X-ray television system wherein an X-ray tube and an X-ray detector are arranged across a top board to provide clear images by bringing the X-ray detector and a subject come into close contact without increasing the installation space. SOLUTION: The X-ray television system includes the top board 3 on which the subject P is mounted and can be laid down and raised between a horizontal position and a standing position, the X-ray tube 4 arranged on the surface side of the top board 3, the X-ray detector 5 arranged on the reverse side of the top board 3, a turning supporting mechanism 18 supporting the X-ray detector 5 turnably at a position where the X-ray detection surface 24 faces the X-ray tube 4 side through the top board 3 and a position where the surface faces directions other than the X-ray tube 4 side, and a second X-ray tube 25 arranged at a position which permits it to irradiate the X-ray detection surface 24 facing the directions other than the X-ray tube 4 side with X rays.
