Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which exhibits an improved effect to remove dust attached to a filter. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes an electric blower 21 for sucking the dust, a dust collecting case 5 for capturing the dust sucked by this electric blower 21, a first filter 27a provided in this dust collecting case 5 for filtering coarse dust, a second filter 27b provided on the downstream side of the first filter 27a in the dust collecting case 5 for filtering fine dust, and a dust removing mechanism which applies linear reciprocating movement on at least one of the first filter 27a and the second filter 27b. By the dust removing mechanism making the reciprocating movement at high speed, the whole filter is shaken at high speed, and a surface peeling inertia force is applied at high speed to the fine dust on the whole surface of the filter to effectively remove the dust on the filter.
