Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bed side-rail having a flexible portion of a single structure free from a gap conventionally formed between a side-rail head portion and a side-rail body portion. SOLUTION: The bed side-rail includes a first side-rail 20, a second side-rail 22, and a lifting mechanism 26 which are disposed on each side surface of a bed 10 to suppress a patient's movement, in which the opposed side edges of the first and second side-rails 20 and 22 are rotatably attached to a floor head section 34, and the lifting mechanism 26 is firmly installed on a bed frame 24. The first side-rail 20 includes a flexible section 30 and an extending section 31, and the second side-rail 22 similarly includes a flexible section 32 and an extending section 33. The length of the extending sections 31 and 33 is changed by the bending of the flexible sections 30 and 32 of the side-rails 20 and 22 according to the rise and fall of the floor head section 34, and the extending sections 31 and 33 are extended or contracted in a direction shown by a double-headed arrow 35.
