Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the diameter dimension of a seal member in comparison with the past and improve reliability of an oil seal, by arranging the seal member between an inner race body and an opposed surface on the side of a crankshaft opposed to the inner race body. SOLUTION: In this starter, the inner race body 36 is arranged on the inner peripheral side of a torque transmission section 24, and an outer race body 28 is arranged on the outer peripheral side of the torque transmission section 24. A fuel filling space 19 is formed on one side of the starter. An outer race 12 has an outer race connecting portion 29 which extends from one end of the outer race body 28 in order to cover one surface of the torque transmission section 24 near to the fuel filling space 19 and which is connected to the side of the crankshaft 10. An inner race 23 has an inner race connecting portion 37 which extends from the other end of the inner race body 36 in order to cover the other surface of the torque transmission section 24 far from the fuel filling space 19 and which is connected to the side of a ring gear 20. A first seal member is arranged between the inner race body 36 and the outer race connecting portion 29. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
