Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a state of a user at a stage prior to dozing by clearly discriminating a state of wakefulness in which the user is restful and calm from a state in which the user is at the stage prior to dozing. SOLUTION: The wakefulness degree detector includes a sensor 2 for detecting the pulsation of arterial vessels of the user, and a wakefulness degree detection part 6. The wakefulness degree detection part 6 acquires pulse waves from the pulsation, creates a pulse-wave synchronous pulse train from the pulse waves, acquires a power spectrum density which is fluctuation of the pulse-wave synchronous pulse train, from the pulse-wave synchronous pulse train by applying a maximum entropy method, and detects a state predicting sleeping if appearance of a plurality of power spectrum densities of different frequencies is recognized in a first set frequency band set within a frequency band of 0.01-1.0 Hz including a frequency band of 0.1-0.8 Hz.
