Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unnecessary recording due to forgetting of operation in the case of one-time recording medium. SOLUTION: A system control unit (32) sets a build-in timer to an initial recording time for operations of a recording instruction switch (30B) not under recording, and allows a camera head (12), an image data compression/decompression unit (22) and a recording unit (26) to start a recording operation. The recording time of the built-in timer is extended through the operation of a recording extension instruction switch (30C) under the recording operation.
