Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fluorescent lamp capable of easily adjusting a mercury amount. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the fluorescent lamp includes a process for arranging a supporting line 13 on a stem 11 with a filament 12 mounted and arranging a metal ring 14 on the supporting line 13 to surround the filament 12, a process for arranging a rod-shaped mercury discharging member 15 of a prescribed length on the periphery of the metal ring 14, a process for arranging the stem 11 on an end part of a bulb, a process for sealing the bulb after evacuation of the bulb and filling a rare gas, and a process for discharging mercury vapor into the bulb from the mercury discharging member 15 by high frequency induction heating.
