Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an acrylic emulsion composition which has good storage stability and also good affinity and the wettability to a material to be treated with, and exhibiting necessary and sufficient mechanical strength and adhesive force even on the treatment at relatively low temperature.SOLUTION: The acrylic emulsion composition comprises 2-50 wt.% of an acrylic copolymer and 50-98 wt.% of water, where the acrylic copolymer contains 0.3-50 wt.% of a chemical structure (P1) in the molecule where an acrylic monomer (P) having a functional group in the molecule is radically polymerized, and the cohesive energy CE(P1) of the chemical structure (P1) is ≥500 MPa. Alternatively, the acrylic emulsion composition comprises 2-50 wt.% of an acrylic copolymer and 50-98 wt.% of water, where the acrylic copolymer contains 0.3-50 wt.% of a chemical structure (P2) in the molecule which is generated after the functional group of the chemical structure (P1), where an acrylic monomer (P) having a functional group in the molecule is radically polymerized, is further reacted, and the cohesive energy CE(P2) of the chemical structure (P2) is ≥450 MPa. |
