PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white film for a reflector, used in a backlight unit of a liquid crystal display device, providing high brightness when the white film is used as the reflector in the backlight unit of the liquid crystal display device, hardly causing burrs or whisker-like matters in punching, and excelling in punching properties.SOLUTION: The white film for the reflector includes a light reflecting layer consisting of: a void volume fraction of 55-80%; and a support layer of a biaxially stretched polyester film provided on at least one side of the light reflecting layer. The ratio of the total thickness of the light reflecting layer to the total thickness of the support layer is 85:15-98:2, and the reflectance of the film is 98.0% or more. Punching energy by a drop impact test is 0.10-0.30 J, and the film thickness is 150-250 μm.
