Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and efficiently perform cleaning of an outer peripheral surface of a guide roller, by eliminating removal work of the guide roller.SOLUTION: A cleaning film 11 having a stain adsorbing pressure sensitive adhesive material layer 15 is separably stuck to a surface of a handrail belt 2 by driving stopping of an escalator E, and a separation preventive film 7 is detachably stuck to the surface of the handrail belt 2 so as to overlap with both end parts of this stuck cleaning film 11. The handrail belt 2 is carried by the operation resumption of the escalator E, and a stain stuck to a driving roller 4 and a guide roller 6 is adsorbed to the pressure sensitive adhesive material layer 15 of the cleaning film 11.
