Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect focus, while extending a distance-measuring range in a focus detector in which a plurality of line sensors are provided.SOLUTION: In the focus-detecting part of an AF module in which line sensor groups EA1, EA2, EB1 and EB2 are arranged in the shape of a cross, a monitor sensor LMA9, which monitors a line sensor LSA9 is arranged at the center part C1 side of a projection area, and a monitor sensor LMB1 provided in the line sensor group EB1 is arranged on one side face of the line sensor LSB1, which is closer to the center part C2 of the projection area than to the other side face of the line sensor LSB1.
