PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device for a vehicle capable of accurately displaying a traveling direction of the vehicle even on an inclined road by using map data containing elevation data.SOLUTION: The navigation device includes a database which stores map data containing road maps and road elevation data, a navigator which searches a route of the vehicle from a starting point to a destination from the database and generates a guide image guiding a progressing azimuth of the vehicle, an angle sensor which detects a tilt angle of the vehicle, a display device which displays the guide image, a compute section which takes the elevation data from the database and computes a tilt angle of a progressing road, and a correction section which corrects a progressing azimuth angle of the guide image depending on a tilt angle of the road and a tilt angle of the vehicle when the road ahead of an azimuth change point has a tilt angle of no less than a predetermined angle.
