Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a withstand voltage, in a solid electrolytic capacitor having a solid electrolyte containing a conductive polymer. SOLUTION: In the solid electrolytic capacitor, a capacitor element includes an anode electrode layer 11 having an oxide coat, an anode electrode layer 12, and a separator 13 provided therebetween, and the layers and the separator are wound to form the capacitor element. The conductive polymer is a polymer of a monomer which contains 3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene having a side chain. The conductive polymer is obtained preferably by impregnating the inside of the capacitor element with a monomer containing 3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene having the side chain and an oxidizing agent, and then polymerizing them.
