Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display having a lower frame, in which an area where the thickness of a light guide plate becomes thick, is kept to a minimum when the thickness of the light entrance surface of the light guide plate is made shorter than the height of the light-emitting diode. SOLUTION: Light-emitting diodes of n pieces mounted on an LED substrate are housed in a mold from the opposite side to a liquid crystal panel in the mold. The LED substrate is arranged so that the distal end of the LED substrate is opposed to a reflection sheet part without being superposed on a portion of the reflection sheet part. When the direction perpendicular to the liquid crystal panel is defined as a first direction, the thickness of each of n pieces of light-emitting diodes in the first direction is made thicker than that of the light entrance surface of the light guide plate in the first direction. The area where n pieces of light-emitting diodes are arranged is projected from the area where the light guide plate is arranged, into the direction parted from the liquid crystal panel.
