Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cap for a pressure-fitted surface of a meter unit, visually recognizable on whether mounted to the meter unit while protecting the pressure-fitted surface of the meter unit, preventing a water meter or a meter substitution pipe from being erroneously mounted, and formed also by a molding means other than injection molding, and to provide a meter unit for a water line. SOLUTION: The protective cap for the pressure-fitted surface of the meter unit comprises a disk part 40 having a sticking part 41 for sticking to the position of the pressure-fitted surface 20 of the meter unit, and a part in the radial direction of the disk part 40 has a grip display part 42 formed projecting in tongue piece shape.
