Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring quickly, accurately and inexpensively a diameter difference of spherical bodies produced at a high speed, in conformity with a production speed, and a method and a device for sorting the spherical bodies, using the measuring method. SOLUTION: An outline image of a rocking spherical body 11 is photographed in a plurality of times from vertical and horizontal directions. (1) As to the images photographed from the vertical direction, the maximum value (maximum diameter) of the diameter in each image is determined and the maximum value (diameter maximum value) of the maximum diameters through all of the images is determined as the maximum diameter dmax. (2) As to the images photographed from the horizontal direction, the minimum value (minimum diameter) of the diameter in each image is determined and the minimum value (diameter minimum value) of the minimum diameters through the all of the images is determined as the minimum diameter dmin.
