Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary joint securing satisfactory flow of a slurry fluid between relatively rotating members of a rotary device. SOLUTION: The rotary joint for slurry fluid includes a first and a second mechanical seals 4, 5 disposed in parallel between a case body 2 and a rotator 3 which are relatively rotatably connected to each other concentrically in the radial direction of the rotator 3; a first seal space 6 formed within the first mechanical seal 4 and a second seal space 7 formed between both the mechanical seal 4 and 5 within the space between the both 2 and 3; a series of slurry fluid passages 10 connecting a stationary-side passage 8 formed in the case body 2 to a rotating-side passage 9 formed in the rotator 3 through the first seal space 6; and supply and discharge passages 12 and 13 formed in the case body 2 to supply and discharge coolant to and from the second seal space 7. Both the mechanical seals 4 and 5 are of end-surface-contact type, and fixed seal rings 18 and 22 thereof are constituted integrally. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
