PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate insertion of a filter medium into a mold for air filters. SOLUTION: A mold 10 includes a lower mold 11 and an upper mold 21. Two or more lower-mold liquid-proof plates are erected on the bottom surface 13 of the lower mold 11, and two or more upper-mold liquid-proof plates are erected on the bottom surface 23 of the upper mold 21. The lower-mold liquid-proof plates include two or more first short-width plates 18 arranged in parallel in a specified direction X and two or more second short-width plates 19 arranged in parallel in the specified direction X. The first short-width plates 18 and the second short-width plates 19 are in parallel in the orthogonal direction Y through a gap 20. In the upper mold 21, two or more first and second short-width plates 28 and 29 are arranged similarly. The first and second short-width plates 28 and 29 are arranged so as to be engaged with the first and second short-width plates 18 and 19. A pleated filter medium is attached to the mold 10 by holding both ends of the filter medium in the direction of the pleat line, respectively, between the short-width plates 18 and 28 and between the short-width plates 19 and 29.
