Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate a discharge flow rate of a vane pump without complicating the structure. SOLUTION: This vane pump 1 includes: a pump casing 10 formed with a suction port 23 and a discharge port 24; a rotor 3 provided inside of the pump casing 10 and driven to rotate; a cam ring 4 provided in the periphery of the rotor 3 inside of the pump casing 10 and structured capable of controlling the eccentricity of the rotor 3 relative to a rotary shaft X; and a plurality of vanes 5 and 5 provided in the rotor 3 freely to move forward and backward in the radial direction and to be brought into a slide-contact with the cam ring 4 in the tip thereof. The discharge port 24 is formed to be opened at a position on the way of the movement of the pump chamber 17 from the top dead center to the bottom dead center. An end 24b of the discharge port 24 on the bottom dead center side is positioned on the top dead center side of the bottom dead center by the length of one pump chamber 17 or more.
