SOLUTION: The method for producing the fatty acid polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether includes a process for addition-reacting a fatty acid ester with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a calcined alumina-magnesia co-oxide catalyst in the coexistence of a base substance selected from alkali metal carbonates, silicates and carboxylates and organic amines having a molecular weight of <1,000 and quaternary salts thereof.
