Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal capable of starting infrared reception without user operation for starting the infrared reception nor depending on a transmission-side terminal, in a standby state. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal includes: a detection means (S101) to detect transition to a standby state; a starting means (S109) to turn on an infrared reception function for a predetermined period when transition to the standby state is detected; a reception means (S113) to receive an infrared signal from the other mobile terminal while the infrared reception function is started; and a stop means (S117) to turn off the infrared reception function when the infrared signal is not received within a predetermined period after the infrared reception function is turned on. When the predetermined period elapses after the infrared reception function is turned off, the starting means turns on the infrared reception function (S109). COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
