Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running test apparatus capable of suppressing meandering of an endless belt even when an automobile runs at high speed. SOLUTION: The running test apparatus has a flat belt mechanism including: a pair of pulleys disposed along a predetermined direction; an endless belt pulled over the pair of pulleys and configured to rotate around the pair of pulleys in accordance with rotation of the wheels of the automobile; a pair of bearing units supporting one of the pulleys at both ends along its axial direction; correcting means for correcting meandering of the endless belt by causing at least either of the bearing units to proceed or recede along a predetermined direction, using a feed screw mechanism that is driven by a servo motor, and thereby tilting the axis of one of the pulleys obliquely toward either side of the horizontal direction with respect to a predetermined direction; and meandering detecting means for detecting the meandering of the endless belt. The correcting means is controlled so that the meandering of the endless belt is corrected based on a result of the detection carried out by the meandering detecting means.
