Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway system having high functionality and excellent expandability. SOLUTION: The GW system 1 includes a communication unit 20, a task processing unit 10, and a message router unit 30. When receiving data from a communication target system, the communication unit 20 transmits a message based on the data to the message router unit 30. When receiving a message from the message router unit 30, the communication unit 20 also transmits data based on the message to a corresponding communication target system. When receiving a message from the message router unit 30, the task processing unit 10 executes a predetermined process based on the contents of the message. When receiving a message transmitted from the communication unit 20 or the task processing unit 10, the message router unit 30 analyzes the contents of the message, and based on the result of the analysis, it transmits a message specifying the details of a process to the communication unit 20 or the task processing unit 10.
