Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell system which can stop power generation operation while suppressing a combustible gas remaining excessively in a power generation chamber. SOLUTION: When stopping power generation operation of a stack 1, a fuel raw material and reforming water are supplied to a reformer 2 to generate an anode gas, and an endothermic operation to absorb heat of the power generation chamber 32 by endotherm of the steam reforming reaction and an air-cooling operation to supply a cathode gas to the power generation chamber 32 are carried out. Thereafter, when the temperature of the stack 1 reaches a first threshold T1, the endothermic operation and the air-cooling operation are stopped, and a steam accumulation operation in which the reforming water is supplied to the reformer 2 to generate steam and the steam is accumulated in the power generation chamber 32, and in which the anode gas or the fuel raw material is discharged from the power generation chamber 32 and the stack 1, is carried out.
