Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing method for flash memory and a storage device, for suppressing delay of data write time when data are copied and original block data are erased. SOLUTION: In the data processing method for flash memory, data write state in a block is detected in timing different from data writing, and an execution means of an application corresponding to the block is notified that the time has come to transfer only data of effective records in the block to a storage medium different from the block, when the detected writing state satisfies a data transfer condition corresponding to a predetermined writing state. In response to the notification, only the data of effective records in the block are copied to the storage medium based on an instruction from the execution means, which is issued when the transfer condition of the application is satisfied, and data of the block as a data copy source are erased.
