Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module having a structure preventing a glass lens from being chipped or tilted. SOLUTION: This optical module includes a receptacle 12 for receiving an optical connector attached to a tip part of an optical fiber and a lens body 11 having an abutting face abutting on a tip of the optical fiber when the optical connector is received by the receptacle. The lens body 11 includes a columnar basic part having the abutting face and an opposing face opposing to the abutting face and held by the receptacle 12 and a lens part and a plane part formed integrally with the basic part on an opposing face side.
