Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic material for cleaning exhaust gas from an internal-combustion engine, the catalytic activity of which is restrained from being deteriorated owing to the grain growth of a Pd fine particle and which is hardly deteriorated even in such an exhaust gas atmosphere discharged from a motorbike or the general-purpose internal-combustion engine that the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gas and those of HC and CO in an unburned gas component are changed considerably and the wind width of A/F becomes very wide, and to provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas from the internal-combustion engine. SOLUTION: The catalytic material for cleaning exhaust gas from the internal-combustion engine is provided with: a carrier consisting of a cerium-zirconium compound oxide containing 45-70 mass% CeO2, 20-45 mass% ZrO2, 2-20 mass% Nd2O3and 1-10 mass% La2O3; and a catalyst component consisting of the metal Pd or Pd oxide deposited on the carrier. The catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas from the internal-combustion engine consists of the catalytic material for cleaning exhaust gas from the internal-combustion engine, which material is deposited on the carrier.
