Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an enhanced dictated channel (E-DCH) transmission. SOLUTION: An entity of an enhanced-uplink medium access control (MAC-e/es) handles received scheduling permission and calculates the provided permission, determining whether both a hybrid automatic retransmission request (H-ARQ) handling for scheduled data and scheduled data are available. When this is available, it is determined whether any provided permission exists. Residual electric power is calculated based on the maximum allowable electric power to limit E-DCH transmission format combination (E-TFC), based on the remaining electric power, and the E-TFC is selected by using the provided permission to generate a MAC-e protocol data unit.
