Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective fence against wind and snow allowing wind and snow carried by the wind to blow through the protective fence quickly in a scope where wind velocity is reduced on a leeward side from the protective fence while reducing load to be applied on a shielding curtain used for the protective fence against wind and snow. SOLUTION: This protective fence P against wind and snow is constituted by providing the shielding curtain 2 having many vent holes 21 between support columns 1 and allowing wind to blow through the vent holes 21 in the shielding curtain 2 to reduce wind velocity. Each vent hole 21 has area of 144 mm2or less, and rate of opening of the vent hole 21 to the whole shielding curtain 2 is 40% or more to prevent the wind blowing through the vent holes 21 in the shielding curtain 2 from causing back flow and turbulent flow in a scope where velocity of wind blowing from a position of the shielding curtain 2 to a position being four times longitudinal width of the shielding curtain 2 is reduced.
