Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable use of anisotropic metal which is light in weight and high in strength without spoiling the vehicle performance of collision performance, stiffness performance or the like. SOLUTION: A structural member is formed from an anisotropic steel plate having anisotropy with respect to at least Young's modulus, ductility and yield strength out of mechanical properties, wherein the maximum value of the Young's modulus is at least 240 GPa which is measured in its rolling direction, at an angle of 45° and a right angle to its rolling direction, and the ratio of the maximum value to the minimum value of the Young's modulus is 1.20 or more. The anisotropic steel is collected in such a way that the direction of the high Young's modulus is oriented to the direction in which the strength is required, and the direction of the high ductility is oriented to the direction in which the most complicated shape forming is performed.
