PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of suppressing the remaining useable ink in an ink tank, and an ink supplying method. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording apparatus includes: an ink moving means for moving the ink stored in a first ink tank to a second ink tank; and a signal input detecting means for detecting the input of a recording signal. When the input is not detected by the signal input detecting means, it is detected that the amount of the ink stored in the second ink tank is less than a specified amount, and it is detected that the amount of the ink stored in the first ink tank is less than the specified amount, the ink moving means is driven. When the input is detected by the signal input detecting means, it is detected that the amount of the ink stored in the second ink tank is less than the specified amount, and it is detected that the amount of the ink stored in the first ink tank is less than the specified amount, the ink moving means is not driven.
