Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide specific strains of lactic acid bacteria selected for their capability of promoting production of IL-10 and consequent proliferation of CD4+CD25+TR cells for prevention and/or treatment of infantile colic, a method of selecting such strains and products containing such strains. SOLUTION: The method for producing products for reducing infantile colic includes testing the capability of the strains of lactic acid bacteria to promote expression of IL-10 in a proper host cell, selecting the strains of lactic acid bacteria that cause the host cell to increase IL-10 production and producing the products containing cells of the selected strains.
