PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve handshake communication for performing communication while checking data transmission and reception in a communication method between controllers using a transfer memory. SOLUTION: A controller communication apparatus includes: a controller connected to a transmission line; a transfer memory for sequentially updating data on a reception area by data transmission that is periodically performed from a plurality of other controllers through the transmission line; a communication processor for periodically transmitting data on a transmission area of the transfer memory to the plurality of other controllers; and a CPU for writing transmission data with a transmission source and a reception destination set therein in the transmission area on the transfer memory, wherein the CPU or the communication processor detects data update of the reception area of the transfer memory, and the CPU writes response to a transmission source of update data in the transfer memory when the update data is for its own controller.
