PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update a monitoring system without affecting an existing monitoring system during plant operation. SOLUTION: The plant monitoring system includes: a signal branching device 11 that receives a process signal; existing process input device 10-1 and an updated process input device 10-2 which are connected to the signal branching device 11 to receive input of the process signal; and a plant data processing device 20 having an existing process input device reception buffer 20-1 that receives a signal from the existing process input device 10-1, a plant data processing part 20-5 that receives a signal from the existing process input device reception buffer 20-1, and a plant data display processing part 22. The plant data processing device 20 includes an updated process input device reception buffer 20-2 that receives a signal from the updated process input device 10-2, and a process data verification processing part 20-3 verifying a signal from the updated process input device reception buffer 20-2.
