PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image forming apparatus, a computer program, a recording medium, and an image processing method, to achieve a smoothing process with reduced jaggy without causing a blur at a contour portion due to an interpolation process. SOLUTION: A same attribute layer extraction part 2121 extracts the same attribute layer information indicating a pixel region of the same feature amount as a pixel of interest in the periphery of the interpolation target coordinates. A layer information interpolation part 2122 determines an interpolated value of the same attribute layer information in each of the interpolation target coordinates. A layer information filter part 2123 performs low pass filter processing to the interpolation layer information to output the degree of impact. A thin layer extraction part 2124 determines whether the pixel of interest be a thin line or not. A copy origin pixel selection part 2125 selects a copy origin pixel correlated to each of the interpolation target coordinates. A pixel feature amount copying part 2126 copies a pixel value (feature amount) of a selected copy original pixel correlated to each of the interpolation target coordinates.
